Frosch for Recyclates - Bottles made of 100% recycled plastic

At Frosch we adhere to a genuine closed-loop principle. That is, we design our packaging to be sustainable in that it can be kept within a closed material cycle. In 2012 Werner & Mertz, the manufacturing company of Frosch, developed with its industry partners an innovative process to obtain high-quality recycled material (recyclates) from plastic waste. As a result of these efforts, our Frosch PET and PE bottles for cleaning products are now made of 100% recycled plastic.

Best of all, the award-winning Recyclate Initiative is an "open innovation" project which additional partners are invited to join! In the long term the resource-conserving and environmental friendly circular economy can become the standard and spread across industries and national borders.

Frosch for clean oceans

Will there soon be more plastic than fish in the ocean? What a horrifying idea. According to a study by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, that could very well happen in the near future. Beyond the apparent littering of the oceans and coasts with large pieces of plastic, a greater danger lurks in microplastic. The tiny plastic parts from soaps, cosmetics and cleaners flow over waterways into the ocean as do the littlest fragments of plastic waste on beaches and in the sea.

When marine animals swallow the microscopic particles, a large share of microplastic gets into the food chain and then lands on your dinner plate. A new way of thinking is urgently needed! Frosch is already demonstrating that things can be different. For the sake of the world's oceans, our entire product range deploys its full cleaning and care effect without any microplastic.

European Surfactants - Washing power from Mother Nature

European Surfactants - Washing power from Mother Nature

The Frosch formula for success reads: combine innovations and the proven. The green eco pioneer relies on natural based ingredients and tried-and-tested household remedies such as vinegar, lemon and bicarbonate of soda. Cleaners consist mostly of wash-active substances called "surfactants". During clothes washing or dishwashing, surfactants act to suspend grease and other non-water-soluble substances in the water so that they can be rinsed away.

Conventional detergents often contain petroleum-based surfactants. Frosch, on the other hand, uses surfactants which come from renewable plant sources. That's not enough for us! In an ambitious project we are investigating the possibility of converting to native vegetable oils such as rapeseed, olive, sunflower and linseed and eliminating the use of surfactants made from tropical oils.

Nearly all Frosch products already contain between 10 and 100% surfactants based on European vegetable oils!

In keeping with the natural ingredients concept at Frosch, we distinguish ourselves with the use of natural based active substances, proven household remedies (e.g. bicarbonate of soda, vinegar, alcohol) and well-known care components (e.g. aloe vera, almond oil). It's our recipe for success!

The combination of natural, efficient cleaning power with environmental compatibility and skin-friendliness make the Frosch brand what it is: naturally good.
